This causes several malfunctions, the best known being the locked jaw.   1. Difficulty opening your mouth wide<\/li>\n
  2. Pain in your face around the joint area, neck and shoulders, around the ears, especially when you chew, speak or yawn<\/li>\n
  3. Jaws that lock when the mouth is either open or closed, making it impossible to move<\/li>\n
  4. A constant tension in your face<\/li>\n
  5. Clicking and popping sounds when you open your mouth or chew<\/li>\n
  6. Sudden feeling that your teeth don\u2019t fit properly when eating<\/li>\n
  7. Chronic tooth sensitivity, headaches, neck, shoulder and ear pain, dizzy spells, tinnitus (ringing or acute sound in the ears)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    TMD is more common amongst women than men, and usually manifests between the ages of 20 and 40. It is sometimes tricky to diagnose a jaw problem, as many of its symptoms also apply to other dental conditions.
