This causes several malfunctions, the best known being the locked jaw. Other problems that you may not necessarily connect to TMD may also be present, such as:[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]

Difficulty opening your mouth wide

Pain in your face around the joint area, neck and shoulders, around the ears, especially when you chew, speak or yawn

Jaws that lock when the mouth is either open or closed, making it impossible to move

A constant tension in your face

Clicking and popping sounds when you open your mouth or chew

Sudden feeling that your teeth don’t fit properly when eating

Chronic tooth sensitivity, headaches, neck, shoulder and ear pain, dizzy spells, tinnitus (ringing or acute sound in the ears)

TMD is more common amongst women than men, and usually manifests between the ages of 20 and 40. It is sometimes tricky to diagnose a jaw problem, as many of its symptoms also apply to other dental conditions. Our team of experts will discuss your general health and conduct the necessary tests in order to assess if TMD is present. A night guard and slight adjustments to your bite may be the solution to your discomfort.

Get your jaw problems under control. Make an appointment with our clinic for your TMD examination.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1490714332948{margin-bottom: 80px !important;background-image: url(https://www.pierrefonds.dentist/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/bottom-page-banner-urgent.jpg?id=1152) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}” el_class=”last-lady”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Urgent Care Needed?” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:48|text_align:left|color:%23ffffff” google_fonts=”font_family:PT%20Serif%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1487258237927{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_raw_js]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[/vc_raw_js][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Jaw Problems” font_container=”tag:h1|font_size:25|text_align:left|color:%23434947″ google_fonts=”font_family:PT%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_custom_heading text=”“POP!” Goes the Jaw Joint” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:25|text_align:left|color:%23434947″ google_fonts=”font_family:PT%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1479313068804{margin-top: 10px !important;}”]Jaw problems, also known as TMD (temporomandibular disorders) and TMJ (temporomandibular joints) occur when your jaw bone and skull do not connect properly.
