Broken or Chipped Tooth

CRACK!… and a Piece of Tooth is Missing

It happens when you least expect it. You are eating and you suddenly feel something hard in your mouth that does not seem right. A piece of tooth or an old filling just detached. Once the broken piece is cleared away, your tongue will obsessively move to the broken area, guaranteed!

Broken Tooth

Most of the tooth or filling has broken off, leaving a large opening, or gap, where the tooth initially stood.

Chipped Tooth

A small piece of enamel has broken off, usually at the tip of a front tooth or side of a back tooth.

What to do?

  1. Rinse your mouth with salted water.
  2. Do not eat anything hard.
  3. If the break caused a sharp edge that cuts into your tongue or cheek, call our emergency dentists for immediate help.
  4. In any case, call our clinic as soon as possible.

Depending on the severity of the break or chip, our dentists will recommend filling your tooth or placing a crown.

Do not leave a broken or chipped tooth untreated. It may get infected and you may end up requiring a root canal or worse: losing it. Call our clinic for quick relief!
